I don't think that bands that make it on their first album are as strong as bands that don't: there is nowhere to go but down.
One of the things I feel very strong about is the achievement of the Band really being a complete band.
I am a Yes fan, ultimately. I've been a member of the band, but I was always a fan of the band first.
Well, a sort of epiphany: I was in a great band. And it's very cool to be at 53 and realise that when you were a kid you were in a great band.
I always just wanted to be the singer or the bass player in the band. I'd love to have a band, where I was obviously the singer, but where it wasn't me, it wasn't my name.
I was kind of bored playing drums in a band. Which was depressing, because playing in the band was kind of a golden ticket.
I know that starting out as a young band, it's really easy to get lost with bands that sound the same or with the plethora of music that's out there.
I did the marching band all throughout junior high and high school. Music was one of my favorite things in school.
I have been doing merch' since I was 15 and in bands when I was a teenager - silk-screening shirts, making the emulsion in my mom's closet I converted into a dark room, through college. That's essentially how us bands survived was selling homemade t-...
I'm in this band to give volume to various struggles throughout the world. To me, the tension in this band is a minimal sacrifice.
Professor McGonagall: The house of Godric Gryffindor has commanded the respect of the wizarding world for nearly ten centuries. I will not have you, in one night, besmirching that name by behaving like a babbling, bumbling band of baboons! Fred: [whi...

Most people are living lives of sort of survival. And constantly posing an existential crisis, either through fantasy or oblivion, really has been pretty much explored in rock and roll. At least in the western version of rock n' roll.
You know, rock stardom... I have a hard time discussing that because I don't really accept it. It's not really that tangible. What's really bizarre is how it's used as a thing - you know, 'He's the rock star of politics,' 'He's the rock star of quart...
I did the whole rock and roll thing that's coming up. I think you're going to enjoy that! 'Burt Rocks', it's called. I like that he's a dreamer; I like how positive he is. There's a lot of things I think I can learn from Burt.
Even rock stars are entitled to privacy.
Rock and roll is the hamburger that ate the world.
Rock 'n' roll is like a circus today.
If it's illegal to rock and roll, throw my ass in jail!
