I wanted to write about relationships in a more honest, raw sort of way. Get away from all those cliches about how 'time heals' and how you can be the better person. Less sugar-coating and more 'feel the pain.'
I saw how, when my brother smoked reefer, it made my mother cry. He was 16 at the time. And I saw that she broke down and cried. I never wanted to hurt my mother, so I kept away from drugs.
I've been a traveller, but I don't travel so much now. I'm trying to do it vicariously through my writing. I'm trying to write books that will draw readers away from their lives but send them back in a more awakened way.
Theodore Faron: Oh yeah, there you go, that's what you always do when it gets tough, you walk away. Julian Taylor: This is our stop.
M: [as Solange's dead body is carried away] I would ask you if you could remain emotionally detached, but that's not your problem, is it, Bond? James Bond: No.
Lead Cop: Jesus, Albrecht, I can see why they took away your gold shield! Albrecht: Yeah, I wasn't a big enough asshole.
Ralphie as Adult: [narrating] Only one thing in the world could've dragged me away from the soft glow of electric sex gleaming in the window.
Slater: You cool man? Mitch: Like how? Slater: [rolling his eyes as he walks away] OK. Pink: He was asking if you get high.
Tyler Durden: You're too old, fat man. Your tits are too big. [Tyler walks away, throwing his cigarette] Tyler Durden: Get the fuck off my porch.
Jeannie: In a nutshell: I hate my brother. Boy in Police Station: That's cool. Did you blow him away or somethin'?
Hans: Anna? But she froze your heart. Anna: The only frozen heart around here is yours. [she turns away from Hans, then quickly turns around again to punch him into the lake]
Matt Buckner: Pete Dunham's life taught me there's a time to stand your ground, and his death taught me there's a time to walk away.
[Kay is threatening to take the children away] Michael: Don't you know that I would use all of my power to prevent something like that from happening?
Tauriel: [weeps for Kili] If this is love, I don't want it. Take it away, please! Why does it hurt so much? Thranduil: [sadly] Because it was real.
Jeff McCallister: [chucking his bag full of stuff from the top of the stairs to the bottom floor] Bombs away! [the bag lands at the neighborhood officer's feet]
Nicholas Angel: [in a crime scene, where everyone is masked and wearing the same clothes] Nicholas Angel: Janine, I've been transferred and I'm moving away for a while. Bob: I'm not Janine.
[to Deputy Harvey Pell] Joe: I knew you had guts but I never figured you for brains. It takes a pretty smart man to know when to back away.
Officer Garden: [to Phil, Stu, and Alan, after they are taken in for stealing a police car] Think you gon' get away with it? Not up in here! Officer Franklin: [lividly] Not up in here!
Clarence: You see, George, you've really had a wonderful life. Don't you see what a mistake it would be to throw it away?
Dr. Brand, Cooper: We need the bravest humans to finds us a new home. Cooper: But the nearest star is over thousand years away. Doyle: Hence the bravery.
