About Jerry Lewis:
Jerry Lewis is an American comedian, actor, singer, film producer, screenwriter and film director. He is known for his slapstick humor in film, television, stage and radio. He originally created an act with Dean Martin in 1946 (see Martin and Lewis) which performed in nightclubs and later appeared in a series of comedy films for Paramount Pictures before the two men went their separate ways in 1956. For more than forty years, Lewis also hosted the Muscular Dystrophy Association's annual Labor Day Telethon and was the national chairman of the Muscular Dystrophy Association.
I've had the greatest respect for my work in this country by Americans. Critics have no brains.
