Marriage is for women the commonest mode of livelihood, and the total amount of undesired sex endured by women is probably greater in marriage than in prostitution" notes B. Russerl, one of the prominent figure of modern philosophy. Sounds really very pessimistic, but indeed, the marriage itself without desired sexual life cannot cause somebody to be happy. But problem is that in most cases, if not all, it is impossible to maintain deep interest to the same sexual partner for a long time. In that context women are more likely to be unhappy than men, because unlike the men they completely lose their freedom to change their sexual partner and choose more desired one after marriage.
